T-Shirt Design Contest

Happy Tuesday to you, ladies.

If you’re following us on Facebook, you know that Recessionista now has our own in-house apparel printing and embellishment. To celebrate, we are hoping to spark your creativity by asking you to design your own graphic tee.

Need a little inspiration? Here are some of my favorites….

You don’t have to be a designer, just show us what you love and send your designs to us at sales(at)recessionistaparty(dot)com. Now go hit up that drawing board!

Who Wore it Best: Wide Brim Hat

Along with Spring colors and pretty dresses, Easter bring wide brim hats to mind. It’s the perfect time of year to dress like you’re heading to the Kentucky Derby without actually having to make the trip to Kentucky. (Of course, no one is stopping you if Kentucky is where you want to be.)

There is something so charming about these celebs in their wide brim hats. (albeit, one of these things is not like the others!)  The more exaggerated the hat, the better the benefits. In addition to their southern charm, wide brim hats protect your skin from the sun. High fashion, no wrinkles? Sign me up!

So tell us…

Easter Dress Inspiration

I haven’t purchased an Easter dress in so long that I honestly couldn’t tell you how long it’s been. But the warm weather and the sunny skies have got me thinking about a fresh Spring look for Easter weekend.  Spring colors, wide brim hats, and airy fabrics come to mind during this time of year and rather than giving you ideas for the perfect dress, I was inspired to just provide inspiration.

What colors and fabrics and accessories come to your mind during this time of year?

Nail Polish: To match or not to match?

Our Who Wore it Best Nail Polish Edition went over quite well this week.  You and I both know that, in most cases, your nail polish is peeling after day 3. With that being the case, I figured we could use a fresh coat.

Since the invention of nail polish, the great debate has been to match or not to match your nail polish to your clothing. (I may have made up the fact that this debate has gone on since the invention of nail polish, but I’m sure you ladies know exactly what I’m talking about!)

In my experience, no one can be bothered with matching nail polish to their clothing unless it’s for a special occasion.

Personally, I have never been too matchy matchy. I have a love hate relationship with this green polish photo. I love the photo, but I am not quite sure I would love to rock the look.  You can usually find me wearing dark blues and purples or classic reds and pinks.

What’s your nail polish style? To match or not to match? Share your answers in the comments!

Who Wore it Best: Celebrity Nail Polish

I was looking down at my mostly-peeled-off nail polish (clearly a product of all of my high-strung, overstressed personality hard work) and I got a little inspired to see what’s fancy in the world of nail polish. We usually focus on wardrobe and shoes here, but you ladies are versatile you like cute techy toys so I’m sure you’ll have something to say about what these celebs are wearing on their fingers.

The dark nail polish look is still going strong, but Jessica is doing her own thing! So tell us…

Fashion News: Olsen Twins Launch Fashion Site

It’s been a whirlwind week and Who Wore it Best went unpublished. I promise it will be back next week. In the meantime, I thought you might like to kick off your Friday with some fun fashion news.

America’s favorite [Olsen] twins are launching an interactive fashion site. It’s reported that stylemint.com will launch in July 2011 and will provide affordable fashions that cater specifically to each users taste.

Interestingly enough another big name celeb launched a shoe site that was based on the same concept. Kim Kardashian’s website shoedazzle charges a $39/month membership fee (which is reported to include a pair of shoes each month) and suggests shoes to the user based on a detailed style questionnaire that is filled out when you sign up.

What do you think of these interactive sites? Would you pay a monthly fee to have a virtual style consultant? Is it here to stay or just a passing fad? Tell us in the comments!
