We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! As for me, I pulled out all the stops with my children this year and even heard, “This was the best Valentine’s Day ever!” And since I know that “You’re so mean,” will shortly follow, I thoroughly basked in the compliment.

With Lover’s Day out of the way, we have a lot going on. First of all, we’ll be at Magic this week in Vegas, the meat market of fashion apparel, where we’ll be scouting out the latest trends and the thousands of vendors. It’s all a little overwhelming yet so very exciting. I tell you though, buying for a company is never pain free. In fact, it’s one of the most time consuming and critical parts of the biz. But when a good shipment arrives and a new source is found, we all rejoice.

Second, we’re making our way to Utah and Boise sometime in March. We have lists of inquires in our email and will be contacting you all shortly. Should you have interest on being included in these stops, you know the drill. So far, we’re planning a week in Utah and perhaps an event of some sort in Boise.

Third, we will be doing RPDD this Friday. I’ve decided to do them on Friday instead of Monday and that way the post will stay new all weekend long. I’m excited to highlight some new businesses with some awesome deals for all our readers. Wanna be included? Let me know.

Finally, I’m itching for another giveaway but am at a loss for what to do. Any suggestions? Afterall, it’s all for you.

And can I just reiterate the words above in saying Thanks for helping us spread the word on our Soles 4 Souls project and just for being awesome readers?  Just last week alone, we were able to donate shoes in the hundreds.  And while I understand that everyone has a cause and passion at some point, I really appreciate the positive response to our desire to help out.  It’s not everyday that a company in its infancy gets to work directly with celebrities.  To us that’s exciting.  Sadly, not everyone feels that way, especially when it’s least expected.  I hope to never be that way.

How can anyone not love hats and scarves this time of year? Or anytime of year? Any excuse not to do my hair is heaven sent. Just last week, our new hat and scarf line arrived and I will tell you that I’m in love. Completely. Can a girl have too many hats? And shame on me for ever shunning scarves as a staple accessory and not just practical use. Double shame on me.

Forget for a moment that we’re hosting a super duper shoe giveaway (ok you really shouldn’t) but switch gears and check out this, this, and this. Now, tell me what you think. Do you love them as much as I do? Don’t even get me started on the scarves. I want one of each and I tell you this job is terrible for me. I suppose I can safely say that I’m accumulating fantastic items to outfit my entire posterity for eternity. Thank goodness it’s filled with girls.

We’ve marked tomorrow for the official launch of The Recessionista Shop but don’t get too comfortable yet because we are going to completely redesign the entire shop in the weeks to come. We had our first big event since all our new arrivals. Endless amount of product + loads of people = a whole lot of fun! Everyone left with exciting new treasures, including the dudes that showed up (of which there were a plenty). I mean, what’s not to love about $5 ties and such incredible deals for their women?
